Problem: Create a series of billboard advertisements for a company that you are creating an ad campaign for. Show how they’d look and specify the timeline.
Solution: Much like the magazine ads, I layered hand drawn graphics over photography, creating surreal imagery that showcases Jim Beam’s varieties for each season and occasion. I wanted these billboards to have the same boldness and energy as the magazine ads, and utilized similar colors and textures to accomplish this. I also created a billboard for three of the seasons in New England.
Problem: Create a full page and half page magazine advertisement for a company that you are creating an ad campaign for. Show how it would be incorporated and pick the magazine.
Solution: I used the seasons and corresponding elements to show the varieties that Jim Beam has in its catalogue of bourbon. I wanted to layer photography with sketched, chalk-like graphics that communicate the flavor and sensations experienced with each variety. The line quality and bold colors of the drawings pop over the photography and create an energy to both pieces that make them stand out and communicate life and excitement. I put these ads in Rolling Stone magazine, as music and alcohol often go hand in hand, and the ads would speak to the
college age demographic.
